LAY one day - UMPIRE the next!
AFL Goulburn Murray along with the Goulburn Valley Football Umpires Association are excited to launch the 2025 Junior Club Umpire Program.
Inviting all U15/16/17/18 players to participate in umpiring, by Field Umpiring local U12 games in the Goulburn Murray Junior League.
This program was extremely successful last season with over 30 umpires participating. This program has been running for two seasons, with 9 umpires progressing to umpire senior football.
Online information session for the program to be held on Monday 31st March.

Aiden Maksacheff joined the GVFUA in 2023, officiating as a Boundary umpire.
In his second year with the group he officiated the GVL Senior grand final in his second year.
Aiden has already taken on a leadership role with the boundary group, offering advise to new umpires & assisting with coaching drills at training.
Keep an eye on Aiden in the next few years, he has the ability to take his umpiring to the highest level.

Coaching our coaches!

Last night GVFUA coaches were unskilled with the latest drills and information from the AFL Victoria umpire team.
We were lucky enough to have AFL umpires Andrew Adair (field) and Steve Piperno (goals) and Leigh Buwalda (AFL Vic & ex VFL boundary umpire) present to our coaches.

Following the outside session Sarah from the AFL W&G team presented on how we can provide a great coaching environment within our group.
